RD - James

Work is part of life. Life is a product of hard work. So you work and you live. Both are inseparable, like a man and a woman in love.

RD James

The moment you open your eyes in the morning, your first thought is that the clock is ticking on the time you have before you have to leave home. When you step into the office, you face an assault of different meetings, as well as the influx of data, e-mails and information on your computer screen. When you are conversing with colleagues during lunch, your mind still processes the tasks ahead non-stop. When the bell marking the second half of the day clangs, you repeat what you did in the first half of the day, until the punch clock announces with a “beep” that working hours have ended. All your thoughts start to cool down amid nightfall. This is everybody’s life.

But the soul screams for more. When you wake up in the morning, you not only wake up to the ticking clock, but also the brightening blue sky. In the office, your scurrying is not merely braving an assault, but also is accompanied by the comradeship of your colleagues who brave the hardships with you.
During the interval, the bitterness of the knowledge of the tasks ahead harmonizes with the sweetness of a joyful lunch. The repetition before the day ends is like the sautéing of ingredients in your mind, before they are presented as one charming dish. With much gratification, you enter dreamland, awaiting dawn and the next day’s fight.

In terms of the employee benefits at Wistron, I must mention the revitalization leave and compensatory leave without make-up days.
Both types of leave are a little piece of bliss – they will enhance your quality of life directly and make you feel like you have won the race at the starting point.
While others are bustling around at work, we are able to take the opportunity to catch a breath.
We get to look at the white clouds floating by and the hurrying crowds.
This is probably the subtle difference between an exam score of 90 and 92!

Work is part of life. Life is a product of hard work.
So you work and you live. Both are inseparable, like a man and a woman in love.
You do not have to give up or sacrifice anything.
Just follow your heart, and avoid resentment with all your heart.
Like a waltzing couple who must help one another, embrace work and dance with the music of life.
So in the vortex of euphoria, gear up and brave the future.

At Wistron, all of my colleagues are very friendly, and the work pace is fairly fast. I absorb different kinds of knowledge every day, particularly when working on special projects with my mentor. Time feels as if it just flies by, and it’s also very rewarding. What’s more valuable is that I am able to learn from my mentor, thoroughly and step-by-step. I can also continuously challenge myself; whenever I ask my colleagues about any questions that I have, they all do their best to help me. Aside from work, there are also a wide array of lunch options to choose from, and a gym to strengthen our bodies, so that we are not only able to work happily but also live passionately.

After I started working at Wistron, the best benefits I’ve found are certainly the following:

  1. Gym: One could pay hefty monthly fees for an outside gym membership, but Wistron’s gym is right next to the office, so going there for a workout straight after work is super convenient.
  2. Vitality Leave: This point is particularly attractive: not only we have annual leave as regulated by the Labor Standards Law, but everyone is also allowed to use vitality leave to slow down their pace a little, put aside their work, readjust their own pace, and set off once again once they are ready.
I’d like to give everyone a few little recommendations regarding work/life balance:
  3. Cultivate interests you love so that they can be the motivation that supports your life, and you will also be filled with passion towards life. You might just find that all the issues you encounter at work can all be solved in this way.
  4. Treat life as a learning process. Find your own faith in life and value of existence.
  5. Think about the person you don’t want to become five years from now: in my case, I don’t want to become someone who neglects family and quality of life, and only pursues money, because I am too focused on work. I can begin making changes now to become the person I want to be, with a dynamic and healthy work/life balance.
After working in Xizhi for more than two months, I found that the night markets, ice cream shops, and street food vendors here are all very welcoming. What’s more special is that there are also all kinds of exotic gourmet eats, such as Thai food, Vietnamese food, and Indian curries. Some vendor stalls are even hidden in small alleys; there’s a new adventurer waiting around every corner. New discoveries of these delicacies have brought me another kind of enjoyment outside of work; and I haven’t found a single stall that I didn’t like.

My job consists mainly of two parts: first, operating employee branding, which can also be considered a part of brand marketing. So, I am always advertising Wistron’s client’s brands through various marketing channels, such as KOL marketing, social media marketing, digital advertising, etc. The other part of my job focuses on talent recruiting, where I assist supervisors in finding outstanding personnel within certain deadlines.

A career at Wistron has also helped me in my personal life; the shuttle service for employees to travel to and from work has been a true benefit for me. I don’t have to ride in crowded trains, and I also don’t have to walk a long way to the office; the benefit of taking a short break on the shuttle makes my working days perfect from start to end. Moreover, the company’s gym and yoga class have also allowed me to build an exercising habit; and my sleep quality at night has also therefore improved.

People often say that working requires sacrificing quality of life, but working at Wistron has actually enhanced my quality of life; I now live a more disciplined lifestyle, and I’ve also had more time to discover my interests. My advice would be that you should proactively choose the life you want and take control of your time, so that you can avoid being chased by your work. You should also give yourself some time to ponder your future and consider what kind of life you want.

PCC Jenny

My last job was as an engineer. After I had a baby, whenever I had to go on business trips overseas, I found that my baby would wake up in the middle of the night, crying and looking for mommy. So I made up my mind and chose to change my path to product coordination; becoming a mother really made me pluck up my courage to make the change. I’ve now worked at Wistron for two years, and I’ve completed two projects successfully and smoothly. My wish to be a great role model for my child has grown closer to fruition every day!

There is a gym and also shower rooms right at Wistron. For a mom who doesn’t have time to work out after going home, this is a great perk; and the view outside the company gym is just amazing. I really enjoy my time alone there. The company even has a drawing class, with a very small entry price. The teacher is really amazing, and drawing is really relaxing for me. If we don’t have time to attend the class, there is also an online recording for us to watch, so it’s really convenient for everyone!

After becoming a mother, I feel that work/life balance is something truly difficult to achieve, so there is only give and take. If it’s something I really want to do, then even if I have to sacrifice my sleep, I’ll still try to accomplish it. I really love my job, and I have found that I can get a great sense of achievement from my work. I try to arrange fun activities during my spare time – you only live once, so I try to do things that I won’t regret, and I’m treasuring every moment!
